coverage of 24-hour worldwide assistance and financial protection to minimize any agony
of a bad trip. Below is a summary of benefits and services which are available in this
travel policy.
Our travel policy also provides the following special benefits at no extra costs:
i) No Excess
With Liberty travel insurance policy, there is no excess when you file a claim.
ii) Personal Safety Assistance Services
If you feel that your personal safety is suddenly threatened while on an oversea trip,
Liberty will provide you with free access to 24-hours assistance services where
professionals will assess your threat, liaise with embassies, consulates or local
authorities if necessary and to change your travel schedule should you decide to return
home early.
iii) Trip Extension
Liberty will extend coverage at no additional charge for another 10 days if your return
trip is unexpectedly and unavoidably delayed.
iv) Second and Third Degree Burns
Liberty will compensate you according to the extent of the burn if you suffer a second or
third degree burn.
v) Hijacking Cover
Liberty will pay compensation according to the benefits schedule if you suffer injury or
death occurs in the event of a hijack.
vi) Double Indemnity
Liberty will double the indemnity if death or permanent disability occurs while you are
traveling in a public bus, coach, ferry, hovercraft, hydrofoil, ship, taxi, train, tram,
underground train, commercial helicopter or aircraft.
vii) Disappearance and Exposure
If you suffer death or permanent disability after being exposed to elements as the result
of a covered accident, or your body has not been found one year after your disappearance
on an aircraft or vessel which has crashed or sunk, Liberty will compensate you according
to the benefits schedule.
viii) Free Worldwide Emergency Assistance Services
If you are traveling outside Hong Kong, Liberty will provide you with 24-hour worldwide
free access to assistance services such as medical advice and referral, medical appointment
and trip information. These assistance services are provided by International SOS (HK)
Ltd.
ix) Sports Cover
Liberty will cover all sports such as skiing, scuba diving and bungee-jumping except for
any form of flying, racing or professional sports.
